When there’s a shine on your shoes…

Watching Fred Astaire over Christmas gave us the idea. There’s a great number in which the man himself dances with the superb lyrics:

When there’s a shine on your shoes

There’s a melody in your heart

What a wonderful way to start the day.

Turns out it’s also a great way for a lad to earn pocket money. A chap seeking the wherewithal for Lego models needs a sideline.

Exhibit A: Dad’s “London Shoes.” Bulled to a shine that would pass muster on a Guards parade square. Yours for £1 a pair.

Bargain.
